When I was smaller, my parents got a big illustrated book of fantasy creatures. The Bunyip picture messed me up for a while along with the story of it leaving backwards footprints because it has backwards human feet and it's coming to brutally murder you and you can do jack all about it. XD I much prefer this version!
Bunyips are terrifying but I couldn't help but make my rendition super fluffy and cute. That's how the deceive you into coming closer. Like a giant dinosaur puppy kelpie thing. I had a book, I might still have it, about slug people who would turn you inside out in your sleep if you fucked with slugs and it messed me up as a kid. IT WAS A CHILDREN'S BOOK TOO!!!!
