Indeed, this is a character I will be playing for a future rpg featuring supervillains in a city trying to reach the big leagues. Rex here was once Kyle McPhearson, a promising chemistry and biological scientist student going for his PhD. He got in to a prestigious university due to his gather, President and CEO of McPhearson Investments INC. His father got him into the school, but barely gave him any further support. Kyle was used to a certain lifestyle from his childhood, so he constantly was short of money. To raise additional funds, Kyle took to making and selling custom drugs from his dorm room. This gave him a certain prestige at the school, and Kyle found he liked being the school hookup for drugs.

However, this didn't last long. The school eventually found out about his activities and expelled him. His father was furious, and completely cut Kyle off financially. Even worse, the police arrested him for manufacturing and selling illicit substances. While his father did pay for bail, his father refused to allow Kyle to use the family lawyer. Instead, Kyle found himself stuck with a public defender. Kyle was in deep trouble.

Then, a mysterious figure came forward, looking for a crew to assist with a heist of a government storage faciility. Kyle had experience with chemicals and explosives, and was recruited to the job. It didn't go well. The facility was a storage place for technology taken from supervillains, and was well protected. Security shot Kyle, seriously wounding him. In desperation, he used what looked like a high tech medical harness. It seemed to heal his wounds, but the device was actually a piece of alien tech. Kyle, over the course of several days, mutated into a humanoid dinosaur creature.

Kyle was no longer a weak human, but a powerful reptilian monster. And while his mind was still intact, he is now flooded with animalistic instincts and an appetite for raw flesh. He was Kyle McPhearson no more. Now, he was Imperator Rex, an apex predator. He wants his own criminal empire, and has gone back to his old drug business. But he no longer makes drugs for college students. Now, he seeks to become the undisputed master of narcotics for the world. And he will devour anyone who stands in his way.
