Petra (African civet) chilling with a friend (Asian palm civet). I got really interesting in drawing more civets (because I just generally adore them) and more of Petra in particular. She's become personally meaningful in a way I didn't expect at first, and there's much more I want to explore in her life.
I've seen VERY few Asian palm civets out there in the furry world, but Megawolf77 has done some real nice pics of his palm civet.

Just reading that kind of concern for Petra's state of mind made me smile. I think there are more joyful moments I can draw for her :)
When every character is barefoot, I feel it's easy to kind of ignore it, but I was also kind of struck by how it stands out when her friend is right there wearing boots -- suddenly she's barefoot again!

Ah, so there are the civets. I hardly knew how do the Asian ones look like!
Now a random but relevant question, how do you decide on the clothes design? For me this is a multi-leveled problem, as I have biggest trouble finding (or deciding on) just any sort of design, no matter how simple - and then, making it work in 3D is yet another difficulty.

Choosing outfits ends up being one of the most difficult design challenges, strangely enough. Tumblr is a good resource for this, and sometimes I save references for later use. On rare occasion, if I see an outfit I like in real life, I'll make a note of what pieces went into it; we've got a fairly eclectic, hip fashion sense in our downtown here. It's no New York, but it's easy to get some inspiration that way. Image searches usually help me pin down exact items I want to draw from.
There's no shortage of the number of civet species available to draw XD I remember seeing some of these Asian palm civets at the Prague zoo way back in 2012!
