I particularly love the lighting and shading~
Hmm... You know what? I stared at this for a VERY long time. Something about it stuck out to me, and I figured it out: no texture. (or at least very little, my screen may be too bright haha)
But you know what? It's very successful! I recommend you try doing a couple pieces with no texture, to see how they turn out.

Ah, you have such a keen eye~ and yes, I forewent texture, and yes, I do apply texture a lot of my pieces. It's almost like you know what goes on behind the scenes here >.>
I'll be bound to try varying amounts of texture from piece to piece. I wanted to keep this one pure. I'm glad you think it's successful~~~
