Alex and Idris look very happy and willing to serve their Chief in this fashion, so a good way to show their devotion while also increasing the bond between lord and subjects. For a dragon his feet do look as though they'd be rather soft and smooth as well as being rather large and perhaps even happen to be ticklish and under that lordly demeanour he's using all his willpower to refrain from chuckling.
