Okay, so.... in ttthhheeeooorrrryyyyyyy, if I was going to make something like this into an adoptable, what would I have to do? Where would I start? I would have to put down the starting bid, the auto bid, maybe a few details, and write out what changes I will/will not make. Anything else? (Yes, I know this is way too detailed for an adoptable. I'm asking theoretically.)
Also, yes, derp froggie is present. Good luck finding him though. >;P

hehe, i spotted derp frog before i noticed you said it was going to be hard to find 'em.
Lovely image, and I honestly duno the first thing about 'adoptables' since i'm one of those weird people who only really has a single OC and no other chars =D Instead i wait forever for artists I like to open commission slots and then try like mad to squeeze in hehe =) Maybe someday I'll have a Silverone art !

Gah. XD I thought he'd be harder to find but apparently not.
Unfortunately, I don't think commissions are going to be feasible for me anymore. I'm losing my eyesight. I could end up going blind at some point for all I know. Moreover, in order for commissions to be lucrative, I have to charge large amounts of money so only rich people would be able to afford them and that just doesn't sit right with me. Character auctions are much quicker and easier for me to churn out. There's also less pressure which I like.
I'm not ruling commissions out completely but I'm putting them on the back burner for a while.

From what I've seen, you can do an adoptable with a low starting bid with or without an autobuy, a lot of people will also include a minimum bid increase (usually so people are not upping up 50¢). I've also seen anti-sniping arrangements, where the auction is extended (usually) 1 hour from last bid. I would likely suggest no AB, I think it'd be bought in mere seconds.
I love the magic dust, it's very beautiful .. well all of it is actually beautiful. I enjoy the colors of the magic dust. Your attention to detail is amazing: The worn books, the clothes, the blurred cat in the back and most importantly, the beautiful eyes.
I also can not find derpfrog .. I'll have to look when i get home on my screen.

It typically works as a first come, first serve for a lot of (popular) artists, and I feel it'd be no different for any adoptable that you make. From a completely selfish stand point, I would have more of a chance at an actual auction because I only come on every couple days or so.
I am starting a new adventure with my pen & paper group right now. He would fit in quite neatly.
Tell me, how much would it take to buy his freedom to roam a fantastic, wierd, colorful, (and somewhat deadly) world, supporting a group of adventurers who has no glimpse what is waiting for them?
Would you be interested in frequent reports on his progress? Receiving a message every time he is able to send one? Maybe derp froggy is curious about weird and wild fantasies, yes? Not NSFW though. But maybe you would like to have some saying in his decisions every now and then?
Come, enjoy my creations, as I enjoy yours.

Hm.... an interesting proposition....
Maybe...... somewhere around 125$? If that's overbudget for you, I'm negotiable. And sure, I'd love updates, if you do end up using him. That would be neat. ^__^ What kind of game are you running? DnD? Rifts? Something along those lines?

If you are negotiable I will negotiate. ,-)
Since I will have to pay our lawyer to get divorced, money isn't plenty this year. On the other hand, your art is totally worth it.
We are playing GURPS (Genetic Universal RolePlay System). The setting is somewhat like the Pern books of Anne McCaffrey. The world is fantasy on the brink to magic powered "industrialisation". The indigneos species RovAr, Sha'que and Akrovarini are dominant in it, while the new races, that appeared after the war of dragons are limited to less appealing areas like frost and desert zones. they are humans, elves and dwarves. The "naked ones" since they got no fur. Ethystra would be part of the Sha'que race. There are other races as well, but they are mostly tribes and barely civilized.
The group just barely survived a hard winer in the north and now tries to get of the high planes to buy lifestock and goodies to sell them to the villagers in the north to supply them for the next winter. And to earn enough to make their way to a less deadly climate. (They survived barely and only with help from the Rovar)

Ooh, damn, that's rough. Sorry you have to go through that. How about this- feel free to use him for free but I still own the character. How's that sound? Also, "ethyistra" isn't his name, that's what he's doing. He's casting ethyistra (long story). Although, I don't really like the way that word sounds so I'll probably be coming up with something less tongue-tying. XD
I sent you a note since I think we reached a point where it is no longer appropriate to discuss things in public.
I am flattered and touched by your offer. For public record: Divorce isn't a sweet thing, but my wife and I are dramaproof, so no fighting. Just paying one lawyer to prepare the papers for the government.

I'd suggest low-detail backgrounds with a "winner's choice as to what style of background I'll do. Here's a list: Alchemy lab, tavern, etc" depending on how versatile you want to be. Like, with this piece, I could very easily see the background swapping into a greenhouse, an aviary (I think? Birdcages and such), etc.
Include thresholds for advanced backgrounds. I.E. "SB 60, advanced background at 150"?
Really, just take a shot and see what happens? It'll be a learning experience!
OH! And the Cash app is something you want to look into! Paypal skims a crapton off the top of your transactions, Cash had no fees last time I checked - until you did a certain amount of business through them - I believe $2000/month? It's possibly a way to get a 3% pay raise!

What would I animate? A good story, if provided with one. I'd love to put Asheru and company on screen, but I don't have a complete story for her, and the crew. I myself am kind of terrible with stories. i can handle character, and dialogue, and I even had a decent script for a medium length science fiction treasure hunt, story, but i am not confident in scripting. ideas I got, follow through, not so much. Otherwise I would animate something I found, that is so good the motivation puts me through the hard parts. I can work with others. Done it all my life. Good animation is always a team effort.
Heh. I can relate. I have a billion ideas. Game dev, animation, Poser content creation, Second Life content creation, writing, illustration, 3D printing, character auction... so, so many ideas. Unfortunately, I'm just one person with very limited time, energy, abilities, money, and effort to expend. :\ I wish I could live to be 500y at least. I promise I'd never run out of shit to do. I could probably stretch that out to 1000 and still be like "ya know, I had this idea......" But I'm pretty sure there's a stroke, aneurysm, or heart attack waiting for me around the corner. I'll count myself lucky if I make 50.
i ... don't know how this piece'd slipped by me
(it musta been a rough week for me then)
but...i have remedied this oversight now
and like a few select others..
..i didn't happen to have any problems spotting derpoño, nigh-instantly
but that was only because, it so happened, this specific background didn't happen to be excruciatingly-detailed, this time around.
however. . . . .please don't feel the need to make it more difficult, bjp — i do reckon it was by luck, i made the catch
ethystra indeed...´kinda looks like the underbelly of Derp Frog, no
