As his eyes peered down into Cranley Hewbert's famous encyclopedia, Fane couldn't believe he was still reading the dreadfully dull book; how he hadn't tossed it out ages ago was anybody's guess. But seeing as he lacked any other reading material at the moment he decided it would have to do... Besides, his tiny charge, the little nuisance he feared he might be growing a little too fond of, seemed quite engrossed in it.
His gloved hand reached for the edge of the page, ready to flip to the next one as soon as Markus gave him the ready. The two of them had not exchanged so much as a single word since they started, a fact Fane was extremely grateful for. Yet he had to admit the sight of Markus quite literally making his way along the pages was fairly amusing, perhaps a little cute even.
And for the first time since their encounter Fane didn't find himself dreading the moment the human would open his mouth again. Who knows... Perhaps there was something he had missed his first time reading through this book? The little bugger seemed a lot more excited about it than Fane remembered himself being.

Honestly this one's my favorite. I went ahead and paid a little extra for the detailed background and holy heck look at this! It's gorgeous. The linework, the palette, the lighting all look incredible. It's honestly all I could have hoped for when imagining this piece.
EDIT: Artist's original submission here!
