I'm going to try my best to pull myself from the awesomeness that I know this to be as a whole, and focus on the parts as they are posted. But it's hard, because it's all just SO GOOD.
My favorite part of this section? The whole origin story (is that cheating?). It's just so fantastic, and it's just the right blend of what feels like myth and what feels like reality. Plus I'm a sucker for when stories like this are told by characters, not just narrated.
And I must say, it's eerie and WAY cool how close to my own ideas for the "world" he is from came to yours :D I didn't want to hint at anything I had preconceived about the character in case it might influence your process (and this is a dirty thing I would never do to a writer >:[), but WOW, it's like you read my mind about him and his past! Fantastic!

That was actually something I was worried about when I first noted you, as well! I was worried you'd be dozing off with boredom as I established the foundation for the story. I'm so glad you feel just the opposite!
And I'm glad as well that you liked the world, I tried to be reserved in describing it since I wasn't sure I was on track with what you wanted, but in the final act, I had to at least describe a few things through Allison's eyes.
