Star Trek Voyager uniform complete. OMG, this was such a challenging pattern, I will fight anyone who says ST uniforms are simple. I remade this thing 4 times to get the fit right.

Honestly until I actually made it I thought it would be a simple sew-in-one-day sort of project. The pattern itself isn't extremely complicated; there are only 11 pieces (which is a joke compared to some garments), but the real challenge is in the fit.
It's really the difference between a well tailored suit and one purchased "off the rack". Every time I made it, there were little tweeks required to let out certain areas and take in other areas. My second attempt would have probably been fine for a background character, but there was some looseness/bagginess in the shoulders, then in correcting those, the lines on the garment changed and needed correcting.
Attempt #3 corrected all the issues, but the fabric was lighter than I wanted, so I had to make a 4th to get the correct weight of the garment.

it makes you look taller with that background.
well trek was one of the few things on the tube i ever considered worth watching,
but its been years since i've done so, other then what gets posted to the net,
and where i live i don't have the bandwidth to do much of that.
as always your persistence pays off.
