Don't forget - I am a German myself and happened to have seen Michael Ende presenting the Never Ending story as a mythical theater play (with only few special effects but a lot of room for fantasy). I can't stand the movies. Neverending story was the book of my childhood in early 80ies.

I am sorry - I was out of office today and only had access to a lousy b/w scanner. But anyway here are the results.

Your Browser might resize the pictures to make them fit on your screen. Try to resize them back to 1:1 and you should be able to see the details.
Roswitha Quadflieg did those in pencil, they are green and red, just like the writing in the whole book.
As said, that was back in 1979 when no one has ever talked about Furry Fandom and Japanese manga were hardly known. Nevertheless I love her drawings very much.

We have a decent scanner at work - I should have it up by tomorrow. Glad to be of help
Just keep in mind that back then "Neverending Story" was not intended to be a hit. I love the artists work but it's not all shiny and perfect. They are just pieces of art.
