3rd time's the charm they say, but still a winner in my book honestly. Going for another recommend from Steven. The Judge. Let's see how much impact this little guy has to offer.
My Father The Judge:
Wrapper: Ecuador
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Pre-light/Construction:
As always the presentation of the box is glamorous, but this time it was more mosaic with a bearded man sitting down smoking a cigar in a neatly decor of a room with the rest of the box of sticks left. The stick itself was rich and dark. The 2 bands with the emblem and the second with "The Judge" ending it. A bit rough, but firm to the touch. Slightly oiled, but giving off a bit of a mature aged overall look. The veins and seems were present, but not really distracting from the presentation from the band from head to foot. The Pre-Draw from the slice was vivid and flowed nice. Let's light it up!
The Burn Part 1:
The first few puffs were rich and thick in body. Dark roast coffee and Cedar was the first to start it off. The retro hale gave off a little oak notes as well. Alot of smoke came out so the draw was nice and vivid like the pre-slice noted. At the time I only had some water to cleanse my pallet since I was saving up on a couple things. Soon before the 1st third was done, some cream notes to blend in with the dark roast coffee notes. At this point it was rich, thick and sweet.
The Burn Part 2:
As the 2nd part started a bit of pepper notes rose. A bit medium in strength, but good enough for a little kick to back up the other notes. Some dwindle in the dark coffee notes letting the body ease up in strength. More smooth at this point. The cedar and oak notes stayed pretty much in place. So far, still rich and smooth. The body is between medium and full.
The Burn Final:
To this point, the cedar and oak kind of changed a little and a few earthy hint notes came into play. Sort of a weird change, but interesting nonetheless. The pepper notes kicked up a little in strength. Every other note stayed in place. With the cigar becoming spongey from the squeeze. The final flavor note to win the little race was the dark roasted coffee notes of course. They remained on the strong and smooth side from start to finish. After the final puff, I put in the ashtray graveyard.
Verdict:
For any time you want a smoke that's rich and thick, but smooth, this is a stick for you. Mainly something like an after dinner stick with either a cup of coffee or brandy. I'd recommend getting a few for the occasion.
