I think I've finally got Melissa's overall design about finished. I kinda goofed in this one and made her a little bit too tall. She's also not wearing her glasses.
Melissa isn't a part fur, those cat ears are part of her headband. She very rarely takes the thing off. It was a gift from a boyfriend that passed away. This scene is supposed to take place exactly two years after that event.
No highlights or shadows because of persisting photoshop problems.

It's not my photoshop itself really, but an instability that's developed in my OS. Photoshop is one of about a dozen programs I use that can trigger it and cause a sudden failure. I'm very limited in the number of layers and the amount of time before a catastrophic shutdown... usually between saves. I haven't been able to find the cause, but since I'm so close to building my next machine, I'm not sure if it would be worth the time to keep digging.

ugh, that's awful. I had similar problems on my work computer because the harddrive was so damn small, but I needed to run Photoshop, Illustrator, and Corel all at the same time. @_@ Since then, they have given me a new computer, and it runs great. :D So hopefully when you get your new compy, things will turn around for you, too.
(By the way, I noticed you called last night, sorry for missing it, I was in bed. x3 I had/still have a headache, was trying to get rid of it.)
