These are some old characters of mine that I no longer draw due to lack of interest and motivation to draw them.
The dynamics between these two is that they are a mother and son duo, one being old, fat, out of touch, lazy and depressed and the other being loud, eccentric, amusing, energetic and free.
Don was actually the prototype fursona, for some reason I wanted my fursona to be a husky with dreads but then I thought, "I'm a cat person, if my fursona is gonna be me then I need to reflect aspects of me in the design." But the husky idea just went to another character and Don is somewhat based on a real life friend with aspects of myself, Scott and Don were meant to be friends (keep in mind during all this was pre-Silvia) that met up after Don rear ending Scott on a highway.
Now Donna was the character with the most backstory, she was left alone by her husband-to-be after getting pregnant (which is why Don is named after her), she was going to have a redemption arc where she gets back out there and starts dating again, I was gonna make her a lesbian with the mother of another character, the most interesting idea to me though, I came up with a plot where Donna would be seeing her past, 20 year old self again, her depression got to her so much to the point where she is talking to her youthful self, her 20 year old version would be loud and spunky like her son and the two would butt heads ensuing in comedy that has dark undertones, I have an image that acts like concept art of this idea that dates back to 2015 and that was the last picture I drew of Donna, I had already stopped drawing Don awhile back and his mother would shortly follow.
The retirement of these two was a rather miserable one and I did like drawing Donna, y'know anything to practice drawing fat characters at the time where I wasn't really good at drawing them, I don't know it happened, it was a thing, tell me what you guys think of these two, I'm genuinely curious.
