Luck of the Dragon, Chapter 2:
He stepped around the desk and stood with his back to it, facing his youngest son. “I’m waiting, - ” he said quietly, looking a bit at a loss for a moment. An antique grandfather clock, considerably battered from years of moving from one home to another, ticked loudly as the silence lengthened. Hei crossed his arms across his chest and stared at Hao. He asked, “What was your name again? I think I missed my line.”

Luck of the Dragon, Chapter 9:
His paws moved almost too fast to be seen, the left swinging down and across to bat the gun to his right, where his right paw caught it. His right paw wrapped around the pistol’s grip, pinning the canine’s paw around it as Hao’s left paw, holding the canine’s wrist, jerked to his right as he twisted. The canine stumbled forward and to his left. Hao’s left paw slid down the canine’s forearm and into the crux of his elbow; pushing down, the arm folded, following its natural bend. The pistol came up and its muzzle smacked the canine in the nose. “Yeeowtch!” He grabbed at his bleeding nose as Anna started to laugh.

Luck of the Dragon, Chapter 45:
Adele blinked at his instructions, then nodded and started to bring the plane around. As she did, she felt the controls jitter in her paws as the plane fought against being asked to bank into a turn after so many minutes of comfortably flying in a straight line. Garza and Huacatl had done a fine job of mating two engines onto a frame designed for only one, but had neglected to make the other modifications necessary to keep its original handling characteristics. She looked up as a silhouette appeared against the sky, and shook her head as she watched a feline figure light up a cigarette. “Funny,” she observed, “I didn’t think God smoked.”

Luck of the Dragon, Chapter 74:
“Do you know why it’s personal with you, Anna?” Hao’s voice dropped to a whisper and his lips drew very close to her right ear. There was a pause, and Hao’s expression changed as he closed his eyes and grinned. “I forgot my lines,” he whispered, and as everyone started laughing, Anna shouted “Quick! Someone untie me before he remembers!”
