I've been wanting to get into a more painterly type style and figured this was a great opportunity both based on the background I wanted to do and the characters requested and I can't be more pleased. It was a learning experience for sure- I haven't painted digitally in at least 3 years, and I've never done characters with feathers, so that was certainly different. It was also a wake up call in terms of timetables. But I was getting faster even during working on this, so I'd guess it's just a matter of practice at this point.
