~5" x 12". gouache, ink, pencil, pyrography on plywood.
A piece I made this past March, which I recently found while cleaning up my room.
I wasn't doing the collage thing yet, but the plywood was pushing back in a way that probably informed the decision later.

This is incredible!
I love the concept.
The coloring is very lush and has a great texture to it, and I love the depth that the shading adds to it.
I love the face the most, you did great on it, wonderful eyes and ears.
I really love all the detailing like his markings, the patterns on his outfit and the jars, and the background work.

You can do anything on wood that you can do on paper.
I could give you a two hour presentation on woodburning but the short form is that
you should work very, very slowly and deliberately or you will hurt yourself. I find it
meditative. If you have to force the stylus, you are moving too fast, it will glide on
its own. Also, you should try to always be pulling the tip, not pushing it. Pushing it
will encourage it to dig into the wood and skip out, causing an accident.
The rest you can figure out :) Or if you're local to Boston, I could show you, etc.
Try it! Do it!
