I added to my page awhile ago that I was going to try to establish the cannon that my characters exsist in, and I'm finally getting around to it.
I drew this map.
I labled the main enviornment regions and a few major cities. (Underwater cities are circles, on ground cities are squares.)
Okay now I'm going to try to explain it.
This is a furry universe with magical elements. The magic isn't high fantasy type magic, there aren't people who are mages who can directly manipulate magic and use it like technology. The magic is tied to tha landscape.
I tired to include all enviornment types on Earth in one continent. The general idea behind it was that (almost) any furry character could live/be from somewhere on the map.
Cloud City, Candyland, and Pantone are all regions that have a lot of magic.
Magic distorts the landscape and the creatures living on it.
Pantone and Candyland have exsessive amounts of magic.
Candyland is made of strange materials, and the creatures are made out of food.
Pantone is pastel colors, and pastel colors only, like a waste land. The creatures that live on it are fantastical animals, like unicorns and dragons.
Magic corrupts the landscape, it is sort of a metaphor for industrialization.
Magic in universe is not understood. It's starting to be realized that it is somehow caused by creatures living and inhabiting an enviornment.
Cloud City was an ancient population center. A lot less people live on it in the present than did in antiquity. The landscape is infused with magic, but not really hostile.
The magic that infuses Candyland and Pantone is hostile. They are former population centers. Creatures as a whole have immagrated to the main content and are pretty diffuse over it. Magic is starting to appear slowly on the main contenent.
Magic also effects the creatures who live in it. They slowly become more and more to be fantastic animals; not animals that exsist in real life.
Sometimes fantastic animals appear out of nowhere. (Ice dragons in the far north.) (Feathered serpants in the jungle.)
I'm going to start drawing my characters with mini refs and talk about where they are from and how much magic has effected their geneology.
Caroline lives in the Great Plains region. She had no magic in her at all.
This is going to take a long time to develop. I'm going to try and spend my free time this summer doing it.
