Cutaway view of the bow section of Nordenfeld marine Improved J-Class AIP fleet submarine, showing its bow sonar array, forward main ballast tank, torpedo room and rating's quarter, as well as bow plane systems and the double hull construction. The image clearly shows the characteristic 'bowling pin' shaped outer hull of the Improved Js to accomodate the new spherical sonar array.
In retrospect i think it would be better to put rating's quarter and mess on the stern and officer's quarter and wardroom on the bow, away from the engine room, but then again Nordenfeld arms industries are not always accomodating to such creature comfort.
To be honest i'm not very knowledgable about naval warfare and technology, so any critics and suggestion is appreciated

Curious what time span (at least for real life ) would this be at? Looking at one of your replies to chrismukkah, that's extraordinary work for just eyeballing it. Exceptionally better than mine. Which has inspired me to at least post a few of my drawings sometimes this Summer. I have at least three notebooks of them.
Keep up the great work! You definitely have an eye for detail and realistic designs.

Thanks, The Js came out on the final month of Border crisis (a world war, basically), in general it is equivalent to real world 1950s although some areas are more advanced than others e.g. spherical sonar array and wire guided torpedoes came out in the 1960s in real world. It is time when the world's most interesting designs sprang out
That is correct

Most WW2 USN fleet sub (Gato, Tench, Balao) had their wardroom on the front, but post war subs are more varied in their layout.
i've been on a submarine once, a Soviet Whiskey V class which my country maintain a fleet of 12 vessel in the 60's, now a riverside museum. it have similar vibe with WW2 Uboats
