Rabbitpaw pushed her small body threw the thick underbrush of birchclans hunting grounds. The strong smell of wrenclan warriors filled her nostrils. The fur on her back prickled as she dropped low to the growled, eyeing up the moving paws infront of her. She nearly pounced until her mentor, pinecreek grabbed her tail "We must wait for an opportunity to catch them off guard" she hissed silently, crawling past her small apprentice. Rabbitpaw gritted her teeth as her claws dug into the ground.

She began to crawl forward, until there was a small snap heard up ;ahead, Rabbitpaw looked over and saw sootfur a newly named warrior, she accidentally stepped on a brittle stick, suddenly a large dark gray tabby tom pounced into her, knocking her to the ground. "Sootfur!" Rabbitpaw gasped.

Without hesitation the young cat, only 6 moons old tossed herself into the dark tabby's side, sinking her teeth and claws into his fur. "Get off of her!" the small calico colored she cat yelled as she managed to get the tom off of sootfur.
With ease the tom threw the small apprentice off. "Arg, I'll turn you into crowfood" The tom hissed back raising a claw before slashing it deep across Rabbitpaws throat, ending the young cats life.

Without warning, pinecreek tackled the tabby, slicing into his thin pelt, a yowl was heard from the large tom as he retreated.
soon after more birchclan warriors came to assist, driving out the wrenclan attackers. Sootfur finally settled down, but as she glanced to her side, she felt horror fill her form. Laying in a large puddle of red rested rabbitpaw, her small body lay stiff, devoid of life.

"R-Rabbitpaw" The small warrior sniffled out. "R-rRaBBITPAW" the she cat yelled moving closer to the small apprentices body. "rabbitpaw" she whispered tears forming in her eyes.
Pinecreek walked over and let out a heavy sigh. "She died in battle, protecting her clan" she took a pause. "At the cost of her own life."
Sootfur stiffened. "No!" she cried out, earning a confused look from pinecreek. "I....It's because of me she died" The young cat sniffled
pinecreek looked down before leaning her large head against sootfur. "It is the life of us clancats, the clan will all honor her bravery, may she guide us from starclan" The large shecat said, leaning into sootfur to confort her.
