Meet Neive, Keira's twin (only litter mate). After their birth, and the death of their mother, Aki adopted Keira to raise in secret due to her obvious mutations (being a hybrid). Aki then sent Neive off to the main city to be raised by a middle-ranked, decently wealthy family. Her only tell-tale of being a hybrid were the scales on her upper eyelids. Those weren't noticeable unless anyone got very vlose and Neive learned to keep people at bay all her life. She does eventually meet up with her long lost sister, but that is a story for another day...
