Must work on my lore, specifically the races that make up the Knight & Rogue universe.
Here's some Fawnae, the fantasy gnome-race replacement, because gnomes aren't allowed in any setting. Ever.
Anyway, want to do things like where each race lives, what they excel at, even what their cuisine is like.
Here are some Fawnae lore tid-bits:
The Fawnae are the trashy eaters. They basically make the "fast food" of the world and eat a lot of fried, fatty, and greasy foods. Since they've evolved so much physically, their bodies can handle these unhealthy foods with no real repercussion. Luckily, it's not too hard for a tourist to come across meals they can can enjoy and not have to worry about having a heart attack after they eat, as the Fawnae are rather friendly and considerate to other races, despite being a bit prideful at times.
The Fawnae have changed physical appearance drastically through the eons. Their spirit, Ifrit, originally created them as firey lava bits that regulated the world's temperature. After tinkering with them more, Ifrit made them evolve to slowly work their way up to land, where the other spirits held their creations. Their goat-like form seems to be their definitive anatomy, as it's lasted the longest, and thus settled on finally calling themselves "Fawnae" for their brown fur, and fae-like appearance.
There is a rather dark side to this race however. Having to change constantly throughout their existence unlike the other races, they suffer from physical birth defects more so than any other race. These defects are generally harmless and pull from past versions of their anatomy, however they aren't taken lightly by the Fawnae and typically force those with defects to live in the slums or banished entirely. Fawnae call those with defects "chimeras," a racial slur within their culture.
Inventors, Fawnae love creating new gadgets and are a bit more technologically advanced than the other races, and of course, using the world's magic as a resource to fuel their inventions.
