The story of Karotalue began with the human known as Kara Coatalue. Though a member of Sagha society, she was human in form, and thus from an outsider's perspective didn't seem to fit in with the hybrids and anthros of the rest of Sagha society, but rather the 1/5 that was human entirely in form. Nevertheless, she was one of the Snake Goddess's greatest servants, worshiping her and doing great deeds in Her name.
But the greatest of these deeds came one day when Kara and others of her town were captured by a terrorist organization who denounced the Snake Goddess. Threatening her with death if she didn't join them, Kara nevertheless stood by her faith and refused. They decapitated Kara, her head rolling off into the dense jungle bush, lost to the wilds. But she was not lost to the Snake Goddess. The Snake Goddess imbued Kara with renewed life, two snakes growing forth from her neck and lashing out at her captives. The terrorists slashed at her arms, cutting them both off, only for two large snakes to emerge in retaliation. Even a strike at her belly didn't impede her, as a skirt of snakes spilled out to attack instead of organs. Horrified by what the Snake Goddess can do with this girl, the terrorists retreated and never returned.
While her head remains missing, Kara, now known as Karotalue, is still herself, revived by the Snake Goddess's wonderful blessing. She took her arms, fused them together and draped them over her shoulders to cover herself, so that her body would be more tolerable to the eyes of mortals. For it was not often they saw one of their own blessed and changed by the Snake Goddess. To see her in all her many details would be too much for many.
To this day, Karotalue remains as one of the Snake Goddess's most powerful and loyal servants, leading masses in worship and helping those in need in what ways she can. For even for a servant like her, snakes for arms can only do so much. But all is good in the eyes of the Snake Goddess. For she too, has a sense of humour amidst such times like this.

Thanks! ^^ I really liked the mythical deity, Coatlicue, and their design, so I thought I'd try to do my own take on them. I'm quite happy with the idea of fusing the arms and draping them around her neck to cover herself up. A morbid yet very strange use of those leftover parts, ha ha.
The idea is absolutely marvelous, mythic in that real old magic sort of way. particularly the deep red of the snakes.
But her gut-snakes make me feel uncomfortable. she doesnt -feel- disembowelled all the time, right? her (functional) belly-bits are grown back inside her the way theyre supposed to be, and dont feel as though perpetually hanging all over?
Yes, I know I shouldn't think about it, but Im doing it anyway.
thanks much, signed, an inconsistently squeamish dragon.
