It was suggested I do a two-headed "siamese" cat, but I HAD to do a cow... for two reasons. Firstly, when am I ever going to get the chance to draw a two headed cow again? And second, is kind of a story in itself: A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away (Rhode Island, most likely)... one of my relatives (something like my grandmother's grandfather on my Mother's side, something old-timey like that) had a farm with cows... I think they were dairy cows... but that's unimportant. One of his cows gave birth to a two headed calf. Back then it was very unusual for two headed farm animals to live very long, but his did. He took on the showman's spirit and displayed the little cow, banner and all. So while I was growing up, we had this huge 2 headed cow banner at our family reunions that proudly said something like - "The Kent Bros. 2 headed calf!" The sad thing is that I seem to be the only one in the family that loves the 2 headed cow banner, since not even the direct decendant who has it locked away in storage has a photo of it. I really wanted to paint it in this pic, or at least have a photo to show everyone. It wasn't even at the last family reunion. What a bummer.

XD our county fair ended last week, and one of the sideshows had a 2 headed calf, (in addition to a 2 headed racoon and a pig with an elephant nose....well, allegedly anyway XD)
how did you manage to get such detail with acrylic on only 81/2 x 11? or was this mostly coloured pencil?
