I was very pleased to have the opportunity to do a couple of commissions for Regdeh Regdeh and his mate. He's a swell guy and talented musician and when I first joined FA last year, he made me feel welcome. ^v^

I sort of have a backstory in my mind for this picture-- two migrating hoopoe-like birds migrating through Africa (northern Africa is part of their range) and perhaps as far as Victoria Falls. In love and frolicking on their way. Cy is a crow-hoopoe hybrid (and a transformers fan!) and Regdeh is a the more traditionally colored hoopoe with a hawk-like beak.

Notes: Very fun commission. The hardest lesson here was to take better notes during the initial phases. I had to completely recolor Cy's character but it was my own fault. I also had a chance to work with water flow details and trees (need lots of work there).
