The fourth of my experiments - by the time all 27 Critters have been drawn, I'll probably have settled down into something more stable. Dopple is in charge of the System's network of communications terminals; without his guidance, there'd be no way for the Critters to communicate across territory bounds without physically sending letters. Dopple himself is twitchy and paranoid; he has about two dozen different senses, which leads him to experience things that nobody else can. This often makes people wonder if he's really just hallucinating, but as far as anyone (i.e. Dopple himself) can tell, it's the truth. If Dopple ever made it out to the real world, he'd be able to listen in on anything radio-based (from standard transmissions to cell phone signals); he's a living antenna, and his finely-tuned senses are second to none in the System.
