Wanted to participate in May the 4th since I've never done so despite being a big Star Wars fan. At least, pre-Disney. So! I decided to pay a little homage to Alema Rar from the EU, as I like her character. Wanted to use Lumiya's lightwhip, as well, but couldn't do it justice.

I love all the different saber colors and saber beam styles depending on the crystal used in the saber hilt. Moral grey is one reason I think that Qui-Gon Jinn was such a great jedi. He did what needed to be done, but never did I question whether or not he was doing the right thing.
I only know a little about Asajj Ventress, but from what I've seen of her, I like.

Wow someone else who likes QUi-GPn Jinn. I found him to be the most interesting mentor. Obi-Won is okay, but I would even say Anakin with Asoka is a more interesting mentor character : p.
Though I WILL fully admit, that with star wars, sometimes style can play a large role for me. I love story and detail, but Star Wars can be a mixed bag. Qui-Gon Jinn has a cool name, a cool look, and used green, which is easily my favorite traditional color : p. Ventress is the same. She's got cool shades of gray, but her style is AMAZING. She rocks duel curved blades FAR better than her old Sith Mentor.
It's a shame they haven't shown much of the Grey Jedi that had in KOTOR. I can't help but wonder how I would fit into a world, and with Force powers, a low key hidden Sith seems nice. I'd prolly kill WAY more than I would in real life, but master and fueling my emotions without inhibiting them seems my style. Jedi's CAN be cool. But a lot of them have a stick-up their ass ;3

Haha. I totally get that. The jedi definitely come off like that. I feel like I would be a gray Jedi if it was real.
And yeah! I really liked Qui-gon Jinn. I just thought he was a super interesting character. And even when things were set-backs, he felt like he was calm and in control about it. And it didn't feel fake or like bad acting. It genuinely seemed like he was always thinking about the situation at hand and if it didn't go as he thought, he changed his plans to adapt to it.
And I do agree. Star Wars can definitely be a mixed bag. But the theming, design, environments, universe. Idk. Even if it's pretty mediocre, I really love it for those reasons. There's something magical about it for me. It's just really special for me, and I can't really explain what it is that brings all these things together.
I will have to check out Ventress as she appears in the Clone Wars series. I actually haven't watched it. Just the original 2D animated one.
I'm really gonna have to check out the KOTOR games.

Lol. Reminds me of some events that happened in the EU. X3
I think the most light sided sith I ever saw in those books was Vergere. She's ultimately responsible for the fall of Jacen Solo, however; it's also because of her tutelage that the Jedi were able to defeat the Yuuzhan Vong.
She teaches the concept that there is no light or dark side of the force. There is just the Force and what you do with it.

So... If you play Star Wars the Old Republic MMO, if you make a sith warrior or a sith inquisitor you can be light side.
Light side inquisitor is... Very interesting. Seems to be a philosophy dedicated to personal freedom more than anything else. But the sith code has some cool moments too
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.
Kind of implies the original sith philosophy was more about obtaining freedom, kind of turns the jedi vs the sith into law vs chaos instead of good vs evil. But nothing in the sith code inherently requires you to be dark side.
Anyway... Old Republic has a lot of fun things. From the sounds of Vergere you might like some of the characters in the KOTOR1 and KOTOR2 games. (Believe they're on sale today if you want to try them) Got Jolee in the first game who's a gray jedi... and Kreia in the second game who is a who knows what... And gets super angry at you anytime you do something extremely light sided or dark sided.
