Aka a syrphid fly. Despite their black and yellow mimicry, these flies are not related to bees or wasps and are harmless to most animals. As larvae they eat aphids and as adults they consume nectar and help pollinate flowers, so they are a beneficial species.

I like hoverflies :D
They are the best of all the flies i know, and many years ago, one of them flew on my bike handlebar like a radiator mascot...
and took a ride with me for over 6 Kilometers befor it flew away ^^
