Our elderly guinea pig, Sequoia. She lived to be eight and a half years old, but lost the use of her hind legs in her last weeks. We bathed her every day in the bathroom sink to keep her hindquarters clean. She was delighted by dandelions until her last day. In this photo, our veterinarian friend, Diana, has just given her a sedative preparatory to putting her to sleep. Our youngest, 11, could not remember a time without Sequoia burbling around. She outlived her cage mate, Piglet, by about three years.

Beautiful wee Boo G.P. with a swell Papa Mouse, too. She looks very tired in this picture, but she looks- and from your description, sounds- like she's never lost and never did lose her love for life. Thank you for sharing this picture of Sequoia, and the inspiration provided by her reminder that life is worth living!
