"Okay Sammy let's go and play outside?"
Dressed in some comfy shortalls with little snaps in the crotch and down the legs, a purple T-shirt and a soft collar, Sascha was already bouncing up and down.
It was just April, but somehow temperatures had spiked up to almost summerly 25°C during the last few days and the little bearkitty was eager to go outside and enjoy the sun.
His plushie friend seemed to agree with him, so he snatched him up and headed out.
"Stay close to the house" his step mum told him when he ran by. "The weather is still unstable and can change quickly these days"
She got a hasty "yesmumgottagoseeyoulater" from her little rascal, then he was already out off the door and crinkling along the yard.
With his stuffie safely secured in the front bib of his shortalls, Sascha made his way towards his favorite spot to play. A little outside of the residential estate, near a little stream in the woods.
For some time everything was perfect and he played a game of hide-and-seek...although Sammy was pretty terrible at finding his little owner.
But for his brave afford he got a kiss on his plastic nose, then Sascha flopped down on a patch of soft moss, snuggled up with Sammy and looked up into the tress with rays of warm light filtering through.
Only a minute later, he had already dozed off with Sammy joining him in sleep ... only to have a rude awakening about half an hour later.
A cold wind gushed through and some drops of cold rain already made their way through the trees. Warm sun had been replaced by an utterly black, cloudy sky.
"Shitshitshitshitshit"
Mumbling a profanity that he shouldn't even know, Sascha snatched up Sammy, then sprinted towards his step parents house...but he did not get far.
Only a couple of meters after he cleared the woods, the sky really opened up, drenching both the little bear-hybrid and his fellow plushie in the downpour.
When the pair arrived at the house several minutes later and now again safely inside of the doorway, they were both soaked to the bone. Or...stuffing, in Sammy's case.
Water was pooling at their paws, creating two large puddles, while Sascha was abashedly tugging at his shortalls with little effect, as his padding underneath had nearly tripled in thickness from soaking up all the rainwater.
"Ewwww..."
Sammy wasn't faring any better, wearing a miserable "F*ck my life!" expression on his face and his tufted ear folded down.
Well... told ya ^.^' Sometimes kids do something out of impulse or because of naivete, but then instantly regret it.
That really could have been me as a kid, as I always played outside and got into all kinds of trouble. And got soaked in rain more times than I could count.
I'm so happy that I could commission the very friendly and talented
Little_dog_nala for this picture.
Thank you so very much, you really did an awesome job!
