I've had this horse in the works for several months now.
With graduation tomorrow I'll finally have more time to finish it.
This is my first ever woodworking project, a victorian rocking horse. :) I probably should
have started with something smaller, but I've realized now that isn't who I am. Anyhoo,
I designed the patterns and cut it all myself (most by hand as I didn't have a power tool
until halfway through) and carved it myself as well. About 3ft long and 100% pine!
I have only just begun painting it, obviously. I need to add more leaves around the
chest, back, and flank before I can add any roses/flowers. The eyes haven't come in
yet (they will be glass). I also still need to order some horse hair for the mane and tail.
The final design will be much more extensive than what you see here.
There have been a few hiccups, and it's not perfect, but for my first I think I did alright. :)
I still need to cut out the bow at this time.
Once it's all complete, I plan to enter it into my first ever art show in October. ❤
