Technically I wasn't supposed to release this picture until Mothers Day, but I don't think I can really keep it in my folder anymore. Instead of celebrating Mothers Day this year with a cookout or a trip to the beach, I'm going to be hosting a fundraiser for the National Suicide Prevention group.
Let me tell you a little bit about my Mom, Cheryl. Let me tell you the important things I remember.
Her favorite Pokemon was Geodude. She used to do the pose for him and everything.
Her favorite color was black, but her favorite flowers were red roses.
My mothers favorite drink was a cold beer after a day of yard work.
My mother was small, but only physically. She could command attention in any room she entered.
She liked her steak "mooing".
She worked at the 7-eleven across the street from my childhood home for over a decade.
Her favorite way to swear, was in French.
She hated sour things.
She never liked the girly things, like make up and dresses, but she never failed to look like a movie star when the occasion called for it.
She cried the first time I put a powerpoint to music, because she was proud.
Her go to relief for excessive coughing was called the "orangutan dance", where she would hold her arms over her head and make orangutan noises.
She could sleep literally all day if you let her.
These are my favorite things (that I can remember) about my mom.
