Yet I found it interesting to show (and test) the process on an artwork that wasn't mine.
In addition, most of my watchers know your characters (and your artworks, for the older).
They would also recognize the inimitable style of Fyuvix aka Tato aka Third Potatoe...

Wow. Thanks for sharing this. It explains a lot to me. I can see how I can do this in Photoshop, though I don't know if it will be as easy as what you do, but i'm sure that once I figure out the techniques, it will be all right. I have a tablet, but I'm not proficient with it and do what I do with an archaic mouse.

You may try to do something similar with a mouse (an optical one if possible), it will just take a bit more time (25 minutes).
Now there are 2 main brushes to use : the regular one (paintbrush/pencil) and the "blur" (a drop on PS / a finger on the GIMP).
Just those 2 tools, and here is the result → https://www.furaffinity.net/view/9589351/ (colour: 100% optical mouse with GIMP).
Well, I remember using many layers (with a mask for each of them) to obtain this result. So with just a mouse, it is possible...
... it's just more time expensive. ^^

I have gotten pretty good with a mouse, though I know I need to move on to a tablet. I do appreciate the time you have taken to show me all of this.

En fait, c'est une dessin de  FatTato commandé et colorié par  Seraphon .
Je n'ai fait qu'ajouter des ombres pour illustrer mon processus de mise en couleur.
Sinon, je ne crois pas avoir torturé de Pokémon. Quoique, peut-être sur dA...
Le style de Fyuvix et les persos de Seraphon sont assez connus des fétichistes...
