Resistants are the ying to a Sourceror's yang. Whilst Sourcerors naturally attract and channel mana at massive levels even when they're not casting, Resistants repel it, making them partially or, in Theran's case, entirely immune to (Arcane) magical effects - which is a double edged sword in itself because it also means he could never be healed by Arcane magical means either. He has to find a Spiritual healer or recover the old fashioned way; medicine and metabolism.
