Character test for a future project I hope to do with a friend once Abel's Story finishes up. Zack the panda...who seems to be one of the few characters who's markings or insane details are liable not to destroy my sanity. On the flipside, he is supposed to be one of the more muscled and athletic characters.
Anyone who reads my comic probably knows muscled guys are not my forte. I will probably have to invest in a couple weightlifting magazines or something to get a better handle on the body-type. So odds are once this project does get going, Zack will end up looking a little different as I figure out how to draw.

Looking good so far, Amber. One minor nitpick: the calf muscles look weird where they join up with the hips at the knee. That's probably just a side-effect of figuring out how he looks, so again, it is just a minor point.
But by the tone of your voice, you seem to be regretting the possibility of purchasing weightlifting magazines… nah, just teasing you.

It's more I'm just a cheapskate. :B
While I realize that I could just as easily grab some images off the internet, it comes in handy having a book I can have open nearby while I draw...where as I have to keep getting up and going over to the computer monitor and flipping through images.

Hey, not bad. If I may offer a little constructive criticism, one of the big things I notice on muscle-bound guys is they have larger shoulders and possibly a six-pack... Whereas his shoulders curve downwards, then back up a bit, most really muscular guys that I've seen, they tend to start higher and be a little more straight downards because there is a lot of muscle there too. Though I guess the question is HOW muscular you intend him to be.
I'll send you a few pics perhaps? Stock images at best, but I'm excessively bored and forcing myself to stay awake so I can reset my sleep schedule to more reasonable times. I'll throw you a few in a note.

I'm still working out a good balance on Zack at the time. I don't really intend for him to be mega-beefy, he doesn't work out quite enough to really get a full bodybuilder look.
I always feel wierd giving characters with fur a highly sculpted six-pack. My experience with fur has often been its the obstructer of all that is obstructing. But I realize that is more a quibble with me than anything.

Okay, I have to ask--are there going to be any easy characters in this comic? :p
Though from the folks you've trotted out so far, it really looks like we'll be loving your every hand-cramp.
If you don't mind my saying, though, this fellow's right forearm and left wrist seem a bit off. Otherwise, he's a very handsome guy!
