I picked this gourd myself, and in a process that took over a year, dried, cleaned, sanded, cut, painted, and decorated this gourd. I plan to make many more. I wish I could have gotten a good detail shot of the color and pyrography, there is very fine detail that didn't come out in these pictures

Thank you! I do, actually. I hosted a gourd workshop locally and at a previous Spirit Howl. If you're ever in the area drop me a line and I'd be happy to babble about gourds to you for some time. I must have 100 decorating the tops of my cupboards I want to do something with.... eventually!
