"But just the right amount of digestive juices."
Foshu's cute pic http://www.furaffinity.net/view/27180926/ caused me to say "Wrong number of incisors detected" (I'm pedantic about that, I know that some artists draw badgers and such with four between the canines instead of the real world six because they like the way it looks). That led to this drawing, which I did at BLFC and colored tonight.
I have no idea if Byeli ever eats people, he seems to be an adventurer type and it may be perfectly safe for a bunny to stick its head in Byeli's maw. Or maybe not. 83

When it comes to the details of anthros and human versus animal anatomy I usually try to point out they're an amalgamation, so anatomy may more fall in line with one or the other. Then throw in the fact that, say, toons may have a different number of digits or whatnot, and you get even more variation.
So not necessarily wrong, just not matching the biology of the animal side.
Now the bunny's not done with his inspection. Show him the rest of the inside! >=D

The late, great Jim Hardiman - my hero when it comes to drawing feral-ish anthros - used four incisors between the canines. Some artists just prefer the way it looks. "Wrong number of incisors detected" is just a joke, I don't seriously expect anyone to change what they draw because of it.
Oh I absolute agree to that. I always adored how he was using as much feral influences in his anthros as possible, at least in later artwork. I try to archive similar, with my own style and using a lot RL refs and feral influences.
I want to refuse just slapping a feral head on simple copy paste human anatomy, I would love to mix a nice teasing feral feeling into every body part, but I am not close to archiving that yet. I am on my way though, found a good solution for hands and paws. I use as much RL references as possible to learn and mix them, avoiding to learn from other artists ways to draw and figure out new systems while it still is my own style. how to do paws or hands as if they were mixed between human and feral is fun to do, and interesting to see results later on. how to do that for the body and legs... this will be a bit more difficult later on.
This badger stuff reminds me of my own two badger chars, I should draw them more - Because I really love the species.
I only ever drew the female one http://www.furaffinity.net/view/26622023/ but part the bg story of the character is she got a male "ex-partner" she was once mated with.
I always thought he would be a bigger massive male badger, and that I would use him for vore artwork. Maybe him liking vore could be the reason they broke up in the first place? The idea is still there. I just suck at male anatomy right now and need to learn a bit more to feel comfortable to draw him a good ref.
And the incisors topic: (I know you were just joking)
I prefer to draw the teeth as close as possible to the RL feral counterpart, but sometimes I don't know myself what looks better: 6 or 4 incisors. I even catched myself doing a 4 and 6 version one on the same charsheet and only noticed later. (It happened to me at the earlier linked badger ref sheet).
Oh,
I dunno if you remember the procupine. The one you drew for me a while ago eating Skunkhase. I gave her a redesign http://www.furaffinity.net/view/26573990/ and noticed the species ususally would not have carnivore/sharp teeth, but the other plant eater type, and thats why I decided she's a own new type of species a carnivore porcupine x3
So wrong is sometimes better in my eyes, but right is also nice, but not all the time. :3

I like those long (though fake) claws. Now, taxus (like your character) in real life have very long flank fur, but I can understand you omitting it since it is a pain to draw and makes the character look almost like a turtle. I do remember Suomi. Talk about tough to draw! A porcupine's quills are almost as hard to draw as a pangolin's millon scales.
more or less fake, they are still long. just a bit longer with a fake on top on them.
and oh, she was original supposed to be a normal badger, I never realized that the markings look similar like a taxus. I even saw their name in your reply for the first time. oh well you never stop learning :3

I could type up an excuse that every anthro I draw is technically a mix between human and animal, so a hybrid set of teeth wouldn't be that out of place X3
I just don't really care XD
Also also, Byeli is an even more eccentric hybrid with a splash of ankylosaurus in him to become a completely imaginary beastie, something I have never posted to show that. It explains the heavy molar/tusk teeth in the back (the ones you didn't draw >:b). I'm still considering making them peek a bit in his badger design or not.
Anyway, thanks a ton for this <3

The carnassials don't show because they are too far back in the mouth. The cheeks hide them. At least they look like normal enough carnassials in the maw reference.
I'm not saying everyone should always draw everything exactly corresponding to reality. It'd be a nightmare. The incisors thing is just a joke.
