Hey guys, it's the 3rd one for the month and I got me a whopper of a one today. From the shop, it is considered the 2nd strongest cigar in the humidor. With another of Chad's recommendations I went for it. Let's jump into it!
Padron 1926 No. 2 Maduro:
Wrapper : Nicaraguan Maduro
Binder : Nicaragua
Filler : Nicaragua
Pre-Light/Construction:
Along with the rest of the rows of Padron, I picked this one up and from the touch, it was fucking rough and toothy as hell. Almost like a cigar version of Rhino Lining from the back of a pick up truck. Very strong notes of cedar and pepper came off. For a torpedo size, the construction felt tough like alot of shit was about to come my way in the puffs to come. Veins were somewhat present, but the seems were well open, but maintained their hold on it. After the slice, the pre-draw was nice and loose. LEt's light her up!
The Burn Part 1:
First few puffs started out with a lot of pepper. I mean alot of pepper notes practically set the tone that this was not going to be an easy smoke. As the pepper notes progressed, a smooth chocolate note started to surround my palette like velvet giving this harsh bad boy a little more of a delicate side. IT was like a bouncer with polite manners lifted me up from the ground asking me to smoke it more properly for some reason. (Random Thought) Some oak and cedar notes came soon after before the first 3rd was done. Tough, Natural, and Sweet start.....starting to kick me in the head a bit. XD
The Burn Part 2:
The pepper notes started to become a little thicker while the cedar and oak notes stayed a little behind. The Chocolate notes however became and little more richer. Almost like they evolved into a dark chocolate territory. Still the body was getting a little heavier. At the time while smoking this, I met this dude named Rich and we talked about the harsh reality of drugs. Pretty fucked up stuff out there. My head was nearly bumping at this point since the body was full.
The Burn Final:
The last few puffs were coming soon, but this little bastard was not letting up in strength and sweetness. Not much else has come to change. Head still bumping from the pepper notes. The pepper notes pretty much have won the race. With that I put it out in the ashtray grave. I took another swig of my bourbon. *whew*
Verdict:
You better have some balls to give this little bastard a go. Strong, Sophisticated, Sweet, and yet Sinister in nature. Grab yourself one....if you dare.
Next Week: Padron 1926 No. 2 Natural
See you then!
