A follow-up to the previous art, where the stallion simply could not escape from being slowly overtaken by the dark prison of blob he got himself into. Because of impulsion, his display of initial resistance could not overpower the psychological effects he is experiencing by bonding with the shadows.
Soon enough, the uncontrollable spread of thick gunk acting like a super tightrope encasing all over his body, is slowly taking over his will as much as it wants. Loosing much control, he fell down to his knees, grunting as he desperately uses all his strength to break free of what is left. But the wings have sprouted and the form clearly shaped, time has been sharply reduced for this guy, even though a change of mind was already futile from the start.
And that's it for the description I can come out from this one. It has been a long while since I wrote a narrative of some kind. xD
A follow-up was already an interesting idea, and drawing the Pony of Shadows in a fuller form is something I wanna experiment in, but I didn't want to leave out the stallion, nor the goo detailing, even for just a bit for now.
What kind of follow-up would be really interesting to see the next time around? =3

Well, in how I drew the transformation here and the previous one, both are actually applied. The Pony of Shadows is bonding with the said pony by its skin, and at the same time, shaping its body to its form using the entrapped pony as some sort of structural support to hold onto.
It may be physical bondage, but I decided to show the form too. The pony of shadows is depicted as larger than the host, which is why I drew the host's and the symbiote's body build not being the same.

Whoa! This follow-up drawing is outstanding! Stygian is definitely getting bigger, stronger, muscular and thicker thanks to the Pony of Shadows taking over his body! And I gotta say that Stygian is starting to look more sexy, hot and attractive with the transformation almost complete.~
This is a great follow up to your last piece "Absorption". Which was also a fantastic piece as well. Your anatomy and muscles look excellent, and you really did a good job here! I also like your description too. It was a nice short narrative that really captured the drawing well. :)
As for an interesting idea for a future follow up. Based on the progress of the transformation, I feel maybe the next part should be the completed take over. Where we have The Pony of Shadows in full form and the stallion completely engulfed in darkness.
It’s hard to decide to be honest. His entire body is completely covered in the goo, and it’s been shaped into a built and strong body. With only has muzzle left to be swallowed, it’s almost fitting to see the finished bonding. This equine clearly isn’t strong enough to fight back the shadows.
Hmm, maybe for another idea the stallion could be becoming corrupted. And his expression of struggle is soon turned into an evil smile. He no longer wishes to fight the dark force overpowering him. And he becomes more willing to be its host.
Once the merging is completed, it would be cool to just have The Pony of Shadows in all his glory. Looking intimidating and fearsome. And even him doing evil things like fighting Starswirl or the other pillars like the villain he is.
I’m a fan of Venom myself, and I think what you’ve made so far is awesome. I hope we see more of Venom, Venom inspired work, and The Pony of Shadows too. The comparison of the two is neat, and your work so far of making it like a symbiote transformation is very creative! :)

Oh and also when I first saw your absorption piece, I thought of an idea for the MLP show. It would be a way The Pony of Shadow could return as a villain. They would find a stallion and take him over turning them into their new host. Not sure if this stallion would already be evil or not. However, it would be interesting to see TPOS return again. And for them to do that with a new character would be really cool. And the transformation of that host would be like with the Venom character. A dark gunk taking hold of the pony and turning him into an terrifying creature of shadows. Like I said I was inspired by your artwork when I thought of this. It would certainly be interesting if it happened in an episode. :)

Or maybe there are some more remnants of the same creature somewhere in Equestria. Although it can be hard to find one, since the modern Equestria is super bright than ever before. Literally xD
Even the colors are more pastel than the olden pony days x3

All of that is true. Although even though Equestria is filled with more brightness than ever, there is still darkness out there. Light can't exist without dark after all. There could very well be remnants of the creature like you said. Perhaps even a pastel pony who is much darker on the inside.
