Here is some writing I did thats non Colmaton/Superhero related. I based this series of of one of my other fursonas T'Lara who is also my Star Trek online Character. I actually know what your referring to, i just didn't expect it since they are not as well known and only mentioned a handful of times in the alpha-cannon... I THINK we see a Catilian representative once in the TMP movies. I never realized that they were an offshoot of the Kizinti (or perhaps descendants thereof). That's awesome!

Its mentioned in The Animated Series at least once that the Caitians diverged from the Kzin early in their space travel -before the Kzin messed with the genetics of the female half of their genome. The Kzin "Space police" (read as space spetznaz) were shocked and horrified to encounter a speaking female caitian and considered the caitians degenrates.
