Another little TF-story to read!
I dived into this story without knowing much about my target species beforehand. It was a pretty interesting challenge to learn about Mississippi Kites as I progressed with my writing! They are a pretty beautiful species!
This time I tried to create a little more intense atmosphere, so that I could practice working with different settings. As to how that worked out, that's up to you, the readers, to decide!
As always, feedback is always appreciated! Enjoy the story!

a really nice story, you wonderfully described the Transformation in a good pace, I would like to read more.
additional a small advice from my part. Birds do NOT have backwards bending angles, it only looks that way, because the upper leg is covered by feathers most of the time.
in general, the legs of a bird are pretty similyr to those of a human, or most other creatures.

you see, they are actually pretty similar, the same goes for the wings, but that you already know.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! And thank you for the advice and links as well, it will serve as great reference for my future writings!
I did research that what birds have (tarsometatarsus) is a fusion of multiple bones that humans would separately have as their ankle and foot bones. So yes, you are correct, they don't bend backwards, just look that way, because they are positioned higher on a bird's leg than on a human's.
But I also know that I wrote backward-bending ankle this time! So don't get me wrong, that is totally a mistake on my part! :) Next time I'll try to describe it more accurately!
Once again, thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it, and will be sure to use it!
