Very clever. I can read this in several ways. But I like the humorous interpretation the best. Well written, I enjoyed this a lot, the last line made me smile. Great little piece.

I'm glad you like it...by the way, what are some of the other interpretations you had? It seems as if the reader can always see more in the work than the author can. How odd.

Humorous approach: The voices are some drunks trying to philosophize outside your flat. You tell them to shut up and call them asshole in your mind.

Tragic approach: The voices come from your own mind, you're divided, trying to figure out your place in the world. The more rational part of your brain tells you to stop worrying and sleep, because it's another day tomorrow. You call yourself an asshole, which is rather tragic by itself. A sad story about not being able to find one's place in the world and the resulting self-hatred.
