Fafnir, fafnir...either it's a Norse character, or a demon in the Lesser Key of Solomon...eh, this piece of art is beautifully designed, a sense of blissful calm is the emotion of the character, who, though a possible fright to see, appears to wonder a dream that lives within the heart of the flowers now before him...I love it!

Actually it's a poem about a man sharing his sullen feelings of a dragon who was needlessly slain by knights, just like the rest of the dragons, and how it is a travesty that it happens.

Yeah, electric erasers are good at that. :P I love how you implied the scales covering the body without drawing them all. There's one or two things that could be improved, but it's a commission so I'll keep my mouth shut. :) As always, your pencil work is beautiful, and I like that you combined dark contours with soft shading, like on the lichens, for example.

Well ; seeing all the comments and discovering all these members being ignorant about it (not your fault) : Fafnir is the famous dragon appearing in the musical opera "the Rhine gold" (from R. Wagner) , where "Ride of the Walkyries" has been used for the movie "Apocalypse now"
