Once the emotional storm had blown over, and Dee had been comforted and calmed by Kat, the couple and Molly left for privacy to try a few things. After several tries, Molly found that she could not alter Dee physically for some
reason. Probably something to do with her being a sorceress and Dee, now being a were of some variety, is a
magical or supernatural person and therefor not subject Molly's magic. They did find, however, that Molly could throw a disguise spell around Dee, so that people would see her as the boy she had been and hopefully will be again. She can even see herself as a boy in the mirror and that cheers her up and puts a smile on her face!
Molly, apologized to Dee for not being able to do more right then, but promised to do some studying to see if
anything like this had reported and handled before. She also mentioned that if she didn't find what she needed, she had friends all over the place who might. Other sorceresses, wizards, Cajun voodoo ladies, old gypsies, white rabbits who wear waistcoats and pocket watches, Hobbits......why just all SORTS of people, any of which might know the answer to Dee's problem.
Plans then were laid then to visit with Dee's parents and see about her staying with the Rabbitfangs for a while. Going with them on a little road trip type vacation, perhaps.

Oh my. Nobody told me that Molly was so skilled with illusions! It kind of makes me wonder just what else she might use such magic for. But that, I suppose, is for another time. It's really sweet of her to use it to help Dee out like this and to let her at least look like a boy to other people. Most importantly her parents, I'd imagine. Plus it'll likely come in handy for not getting hit on by other boys who aren't in on the secret, which would be terribly awkward to say the least.
I love how proud Molly and Kat look of their handiwork, and how happy Dee is with the illusion. It must be comforting to know that, until or unless a more permanent solution can be found, she can go about her normal life without getting hassled by other people. There are plenty of other issues to be addressed, of course. Getting used to wearing a bra, for a start. But hey, one step at a time.
And going on a vacations with the Rabbitfangs clan. Even if that is just a cover story for finding a magical solution, I can just imagine the wild ride that awaits her!

Not being able to change Dee back to male is the first time Molly has ever not been able to do something magical. That's going to bother her till she finds out why and how to do it. But anything else she's tried has always worked. She could be like that kid on The Twilight Zone episode It's A Good Life if she hadn't inherited my and Dani's sunny dispositions and loving personalities.
Hopefully this is just a stopgap to allow Dee to return home and straighten things out there to secure some time away. School would be a nightmare like this!

Hmmm......I already have one stop on that road trip figured out, but you've given me thoughts of making it a several stop search......yes, even a QUEST for the answer to Dee's problem.
Hopefully this is just a stopgap to allow Dee to return home and straighten things out there to secure some time away. School would be a nightmare like this!

I was beginning to think that there was pretty much nothing Molly couldn't do with her magic, if she set her mind to it, and I can imagine what a shock it must be to run into such an obstacle now. That's just it. You don't need to bribe Molly or feed her ego to keep her happy and liking you. She's just naturally sweet and loving.

That's not a bad trick. Even if it's not the best solution, or what Molly was aiming for, that's pretty darn good! I love how delighted Dee looks to have at least the illusion of her old self back again, and the proud smiles on the girls' faces are super cute. Keep trying girls, I'm sure you'll get it eventually!
In the meantime, well I hope Dee will see that being a girl isn't all bad. Heck, who knows, maybe she'll even come to enjoy it given enough time.

Dee does look pretty studly in his regular shape, doesn't he? No wonder Kat chose him so fast. ;3

Heather is the only sister that Molly ever gave trouble, and that's cause they grew up together and you know how sisters can fight over the silliest things. They really love each other and get along fine most of the time nowadays. Molly gets on fine with all the rest of her sisters and always has. Kat is kind of the family pet though. She's so very different from all the rest. Everyone loves her to death.

You got that right. More change indeed! Now that Dee is a were-something (we really don't know were what yet) there are bound to be some surprises in the offing.
