Prior to becoming a cop, Lieutenant Douglas was a U.S. Marine known as Private Sergeant Jimmy D.
He enlisted after he finished school and fought over seas. Despite getting a purple heart, he received "special forces" tattoos.
From what I heard, Veterans who were so proud of their service, got there tattoos to stay committed to protecting their country. One of the reasons Jimmy works at the police department was mostly to keep protecting his country.
