Aaaaaah I'm so sorry for how long this took guys. Real life just kept getting in the way, but we've finally made it! Repeat 0.5.8 is a major turning point in Sissel's route and I hope you all enjoy it! I also think this beats the record for the largest update I've ever made again. 31 pages of scripting in my Google Docs, and with a ton of new artwork. I can't wait to hear what you all think! :D
Changelog:
-Sissel Day 11 is now 100% complete!
-Sissel Day 12 is now 40% complete!
-1 new sprite for Echo!
-There's like... 6 new CG artworks? Technically 11 CG artworks if you count the multi-stage scenes!
-Several new songs!

I just found Repeat a few days ago. Played through all of Sissel's available content yesterday night, and got home from work today to find it had updated with more content for Sissel! I am in -love- with your art since I found it, and am very happy I've gotten a chance to play what exists so far! I'm excited to see where everything goes and I am very invested in your characters! So uh... good job?
Seeing a Sissel-heavy update today makes me so happy after the day I had, and I just want you to know that!
I have questions!
First: Is save data forward compatible or will I have to play through from the beginning?
Second: I've been considering starting a pseudo visual-novel project like this for awhile and I was wondering if you would be able to give me some insight into the overall process. Like how you started development from conceptualization (Initial assets and ideas).
I don't need a tutorial for how to do any particular coding thing, I'm actually kind of excited to pick that apart and build my skills there myself, but my primary stumbling point is where to start with conceptualization.
If you could describe like... let's say the first 2% of the development process that would be tremendous!
Anyway, I am a huge fan! Keep up the great work!

As for your questions:
1: The save data is retained between updates depending on what platform you're playing on. If it's MAC or Windows, just download the new game file and delete the old one! The save files are stored in a different location, so it should be retained! As for Android, it SHOULD be retained if you just install the new APK game file over the old one, but there's a chance it won't work because of the wide difference in OS in Android devices ;w;
2: I recommend you download Renpy, the visual novel engine I'm currently using! When you first download it, the engine comes with a tutorial game showing you all the things you need to learn, which includes a sample of all the coding! Just take a look at it and you should give you the basics! If you have any questions, check out the Renpy wiki and forums, there's always a solution there!

Thank you for replying! I'll check it out! I may not be able to use it because of some of the ideas I have, but if it's based on python I might be able to figure out a way to incorporate some of the code, or at least the ideas of the code.
I eagerly await your future updates! <3

I want to try this visual novel so badly, it just looks amazing! But I'm also thinking to wait until it's complete because i know the first experience is the best. I don't want to have to stop midway through the ride because its incomplete. I can't wait to read it though because I have a feeling it's goingto be amazing even from seeing the amount of work you're putting into it!
It's a struggle Haha
