yep! They also made M1 Carbines. They had the equipment to make rifles, as they made typewriters during that time.

Yup. *nods* I've seen one for sale before, though unfortunately it was too expensive, around $1000. You'd think that it would be one of the less expensive ones, with ones made by Springfield, Winchester and Remington being the more expensive. XD

cheap carbines are usually found under the name "universal". Those are made from old parts of all other manufacturers, making them not as reliable. We have one from plainfield machine co.... a name you won't find in a book.

I happen to have an M1 Carbine made by Universal. Old parts maybe, but she fires just fine. My father and I blasted about 200 rounds out of her on her first outing and she had no troubles at all.
How do the Plainfield's shoot?

its a cool gun, I will never be able to afford a real one, but there very well made replicas of this rifle, they don't fire, but they work for a display..
