"Both meredith and vlad combat style are different as meredith usually wields dual katanalike swords (lighter than rl swords also a bit shorter than usual) with obviusly feline agility.
Vlad on the countrary favours guns, as is really easier to end a fight with then very quickly, but sometimes, when he want it to take a bit longer, or cant reach for then quick enough he uses claw gauntlets (three rectractile claws on each one on the back area clse by the knucles, wolverine style) those are cheaper and easier to wield than iron cast claw asesories their poeple traditionaly uses, and as you can see, though not lacking in the typical feline agility, vlads not really a fighter (hes the support type, placing traps, being sneaky and being the group techie.) and thus, bessides his guns his melee is really basic rip n tear (push on with the claw and then moves it around to cause more demage, or as in the next imagen, he just swings in very quick uppercuts and then kick his way away.
Meredith on the other hand uses her sword training to wield heavily moddified kanata like swords, as alreaddy stated, these are a bit shorter and very lightweight soo she can perfectly use then together with her acrobatic training (already a custom on their people, mostly bacause children have way too energy and the best way to waste it away for them is to train to climb, jump and run trought both forestry and urban areas) her quick reflex and wits let her even doing the trick (deflecting standar ballistic bullets with her sword, this is actually a dangerous but posible trick for everyone of their species, as it only takes a bit of guessing and speed to bein able to both get the trayectory and the speed needed to intercept it with a sword, another rason why to use lightweigth swords like these).
Just to make sure, vlad doesnt have the ability to hit the bullets with his gauntlets, but instead hes able to dodge them"
