its not beyond human ability to understand
the concept is simple
its coping with the concept thats difficult
i'm one of the few people who comes anywhere near that, but the thought absolutely terrifies me

It took several years for me to come to terms with it. As well as the thought that our planet could be easliy destoryed should anything happen to the sun or if we get hit by a meteor.
