The Ancients were created in the image of the Gods Erafar and Orythorn, and are an intricate part of Ephalon history.
They were never expansionist and mostly remained atop the Great Plateau situated on the western end of the Erafar continent.

They are simply put anthropomorphic wolves who are in tune with nature going so far as considering 'Mother Nature' as their true God.

The Ancients poses an innate affinity with the ninth element (Void energy) They are also the creators of the Forbidden books, tomes of horrific power able to create Rifts in time and space directly into the Limbo dimension, a place of nothingness. Though, the exact nature of the tomes is unknown (read the second book of Ephalon to find out, coming in late June 2018)
