A wonderful rendition, seeming deep at the same time as how death is holding the one it needs to take, while the soul departs. I love the small additions to details with the decay, and even the worm. His eyes look so sad, as if he had let this soul suffer for too long and brought it to an end, embracing the body that once housed it. I like the way his hands are wrapped, as if holding the departed closer, almost as if cherishing it. The reds of his eyes and hair give a beautiful contrast the varying greys, empowering the piece. I really like this one!
